For the most part we try to avoid a flight before 8am. This was one of those early ones and the sky was SO beautiful, I just had to take a picture of it! We're on our way to Maui for a Western States Summit for credit unions. We get to stay at one of my favorites, the Fairmont Kea Lani. Can you say spoiled? Definitely.

| Haleakala (Maui) can be seen from the Kohala Coast on clear days. |

We went with Scott and Samantha Simpson up to Waimea or Kamuela to the Hawaiian Style Cafe, a little whole in the wall breakfast place with the most incredible pancakes and omelets and pineapple sausage, etc. We ended up going back on Sunday morning and attended church there as well. THE BEST!!!

| My favorite thing to do. Good thing I got a pedicure! Also learned how to get up on a paddle board. |

| If it's not the beach then it's the pool area that you'll find me, reading. |
We spent one afternoon exploring by Kona and found…COSTCO! Nice place for souvenirs and we bought some beach towels because we were going to go snorkeling. Never found the beach we were looking for before we had to turn around and get back for a dinner/banquet.

Mana Kea on a clear day. Someday I would like to go up to the observatory. This is the desert side of the Island and lots of lava fields. |
Our second trip to the Hawaiian Style Cafe. These are coconut pudding pancakes.
Our last day on the Island before flying home we spent relaxing by the pool. I was feeding the birds and couldn't believe they would get so close to me! Our flight flew from Kona to Seattle. I took this picture of Mt. Rainier because our son Andy had the opportunity to climb it a few years back. It's pretty BIG!
